What is 'Beautiful' ?

Hello everyone,

Recently I've had this question preying on my mind, what does it actually mean to be beautiful? To be honest I don't agree with the social media and power house magazine definition.
I.e - Size O, tall as a tree and a flawless complexion. Sure, I'm not saying these models aren't beautiful or pretty - but I believe there are more layers of meaning .

For example, close your eyes. Imagine the most beautiful girl you can think of. Now, look in the mirror. If you were thinking of the above. Then you are wrong. Social media has influenced us in the way we look and feel. I can tell you from experience, after reading a magazine I felt worse and wondered why didn't I look like them. This isn't healthy, and I bet every single one of you will have compared yourself to a model at least once. That is one of the scariest things about this world today. However, if we work together, we can change this. We don't have to be this way forever. Furthermore, with boys and other girls rating us it all adds extra pressure to us, with exams, growing up and how we look it can make life so much more stressful.

Here's my top 3 things, that I think are beautiful...
  1. Being able to walk in to a room and think 'I'm confident and awesome!'
  2. Being able to be yourself no matter who your with.
  3. Smiling and enjoying yourself - your smile is the prettiest thing you own.

Every morning when you wake up, and look in the mirror think to yourself  'I AM BEAUTIFUL!' Keep thinking this to yourself eventually you will agree with it!
That is my post for today, and also think of Jennifer Lawrence. That girl is so real she could have her own reality TV show. I'm being serious, today with so many celebrities conforming to Hollywood, it's nice to have a girl who is taking a stand.

I hope that this has changed your opinion on what being 'beautiful' is, because I believe every girl is beautiful, including you!

Bourjois rouge edition velvet review in Nude-ist

Hello everyone,

I've been a bit busy since my last post, trying to get to grips with Twitter. If your not following me yet and you're enjoying my posts, then why not? I'm joking, although it would be nice to have some of you following me ;-) Now, as I often say 'On with the post!'

Today I am reviewing one of the Bourjois rouge edition velvet lipstick's in Nude-ist. It's kind of a funny story in how I ended up purchasing it. I started by picking up the new Bourjois CC cream and the nail polish in 'rose lounge -28' as I wanted a suitable polish for school. I got to the till and one of the ladies at boots told me that all the Bourjois products were on offer. If you spent £12 you could pick a lip product free. Originally I was going to get a nude lip gloss, however this product was recommended to me by a store assistant and I had heard about the hype by other bloggers. Therefore that is how this post came to be.

Firstly, let me introduce you to the packaging of this product. I love a good, sturdy lipstick with a screw lid. This is because I can just chuck it in my bag and not have to worry about it coming off. It also looks very professional with the clear plastic, and the branding on the side. Furthermore the applicator is amazing, it makes the lipstick easy to handle and apply.

Then, we have the product. In all honesty I can not find anything wrong with it. The wear time is unbelievably long and when it does wear, it wears evenly so you don't end up with a weird lip liner look going on. However I can not stress enough about exfoliating your lips before applying,as it does have a tendency to sink in to the cracks of your lips. I recommend using the Lush 'The Kiss' lip scrub which I reviewed here . The colours are highly pigmented and it does dry down to a nice matte finish. The  range of colours are also amazing and I will look forward to trying the rest of the collection.

For the price they behave like a high end lipstick. It is now my favourite lipstick as it applies like a gloss but has the pigmentation of a lipstick. I think everyone should own one of these in their make up bags. Will you be trying this type of  lipstick? Pop your comment in the box below.

My late mini valentine lush haul

Hello everyone,
I know I haven't done a post in a while. I blame school and tests however today I sat myself down, with my laptop and pink nail polish and decided to write this post. I hope you enjoy this, and if you do like this it could be the first of many. Now, on with the post.

I always think when you wander into Lush, you enter a parallel universe. One where everything is scented and makes you dizzy with excitement as you discover all the bath bomb, lotions and potions. Well, yesterday I decided to walk in and have a snoop around after discovering all the products on the website. As this is my first experience with Lush i was even more excited. 'First experience!' you may gasp in disbelief! But , to be honest I was more of a Boots and Body Shop kind of girl. However I must admit I have been converted!

For the first product, I picked up a Bubble bar in 'Lonely Heart'. I was kind of drawn to it as it was red and oh so sparkly with the gold glitter. Too pretty. I tried it out later that evening, and i wasn't disappointed with the results. It did everything it said on the tin. The bath water turned a lovely red, however there wasn't as much glitter as i was expecting, but it was still good. The smell was divine. You can definitely smell the lemon grass, however the scent of rose is a lot less subtle. Th packaging is the standard paper bag, however it does it's job well.It retails at £3.50. Shame it's a limited edition, i advice you to stock up while you can.

Next, I picked up 'The Kiss' lip scrub as it was recommended to me by the staff in store. I tested it and fell in love with it. *No pun intended*  It is the perfect balance between salty and sweet. Not to mention the cute little hearts and sprinkles on the top. It also leaves a little hint of colour behind which is nice. It kind of smells of oranges as described and is fairly pleasant. The packaging is feels stable as it is a screw lid and the picture on the top is just too cute for words. This retails at £5.50. I will look forward to using this as my lips tend to be very  flaky in the winter. Not a good look.

Finally I picked up 'The Kiss' gloss as I had already picked up the scrub, so I felt they should come in a pair. They also seemed to look very cute together. And others excuses I made for myself... It is a very sheer pink and is more of a tinted balm with a shine, rather than a hyper pigmented gloss, therefore I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a bright pink gloss. It doesn't really have a strong scent, it is just very similar to the scrub. On the packaging side it seems stable and secure. It is fairly practical, and again I really love the image of the retro, cameo style man and woman on top. It does seem to also be quite moisturising as I have dry lips, it does seem to solve this problem. This retails at £5.95 I would definitely recommend you pick this up.
